All things work to the good of those who love God.
Blessed Hope
Do you ever wonder where life is taking you? Why things are happening or NOT happening to you? I admit that I often find myself impatiently tapping my fingers, wanting God to act--QUICKLY! The frightening thing is that when I remember that His timing is perfect and what a mess I would make of my life if He did act in MY time, I stop cold realizing what I might miss. I might miss a wonderful opportunity, miss meeting my new best friend, miss ministering to a soul in need, miss the journey, miss learning a lesson I'll need later in life, miss being witnessed to... and on and on...if for my own impatience. Frightening, isn't it? When we really stop to think how little we know about our present situation and how much He knows, we can put our confidence back in Him and try to learn from Him while we are waiting. It makes me wonder if this feeling was behind Job's reaction to God when he had lost all of his worldly possessions AND his children. Job said, "Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised." (Job 1:21) Notice the last 3 words....Lord be praised! After losing everything that he loved, Job praised God! I think Job truly understood that all things are filtered onto us through God's hands. The purpose of our trials and waiting we may never know in this lifetime, but when we do understand the purpose (here on earth or in heaven), I think we'll have an "ah-hah" moment! Praise God!
